Purpose:
The purpose of LAPOA is to preserve and protect Lake Athens.
Article IV of our Certificate of Formation states, “Specifically, the Corporation is organized to protect, maintain and improve the natural environment of Lake Athens and the surrounding habitat, and to promote healthy and sustainable use of this natural resource, provided that such activities are consistent with this Corporation’s charitable purposes.”
Mission:
- To maintain a network that enables communication, and disseminates relevant information in a timely manner.
- To build community and unity through social events relevant to lake life.
- To promote safety on Lake Athens.
- To be an advocate for the environmental and recreational quality of Lake Athens.
- To represent the interest of Lake Athens property owners with all relevant agencies, including AMWA and the City of Athens.
