On May 23rd, 2014, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department sent this important bulletin regarding zebra mussels.

“Dear Boater,

Our lakes and rivers are under attack by zebra mussels. This destructive invasive species damages boats, harms aquatic life, litters beaches with their sharp shells and clogs water intakes – increasing bills for both boat owners and city taxpayers.
